Koh Doc Mai
Ten miles east of Phuket, jutting out of the sea is the island of Koh Doc Mai, which in Thai translates to ‘’Flower Island’’. Named either because of the flora found on the top of the island or the dazzling array of colours found under the sea, no one seems to be sure, but what is sure is that it offers another great scuba dive in Phuket.
Koh Doc Mai Phuket
Koh Doc Mai has been a lucky dive destination for many divers over the years as many groups diving in Phuket have reported seeing the mighty pelagic giant – the whale shark here! Coming face to face with one of these aquatic leviathans is truly a unique experience and, for most, a once in a life time occurrence. Although you do have to have your luck with you to see one, around the months of June and July there is a noted increase in sightings here. So why not try your luck!
